Main Characters
Brisco County, Jr.
Brisco is the son of Marshal Brisco County, Sr. and Grace County. He went to seven years of
college at Harvard where he earned a law degree. When asked why he doesn't practice he replies,
"Tried it, didn't care for it." After the murder of his father by John Bly and his Gang of 12,
Brisco has sworn to continue his fathers work and track down Bly and his band. With his trusty
horse, Comet, he travels the west always looking for "the coming thing". His keen intellect
serves him as well as his fathers carved ivory handled six shooter, which he is an expert with.
Played by the one and only Bruce Campbell.
Lord Bowler -
His real name is James Lonefeather. Originally, he was Brisco's competitor for the job as private bounty hunter for the
Westerfield Club. He soon becomes Brisco's "faithful sidekick" after Brisco and he strike
a deal where they work together to catch Bly and Bowler gets to keep the bounties.
Bowler served in the Cavalry and still wears his striped uniform pants. Bowler's tough
exterior and gruff personality is offset by his stylish house on Knob Hill which holds
his crystal collection. Bowler often discusses his plans to open a winery upon retirement.
Bowler also "sings like an angel" after singing with his mother in the church choir.
Lord Bowler - Man Hunter - is truly a renaissance man.
Played by Julius Carry.
John Bly -
The quintessential devil in these matters. Bly is the mastermind behind all types of criminal
activity all in an effort to obtain the elusive orbs. Bly dies the first time from a fall
after a fight with Brisco. Brisco brings him back while changing history to save Bowler. Bly
is final destroyed by an orb rod wielded by Brisco.
Played by Billy Drago, whose real name is Billy Eugene Burrows.
Comet - Brisco's faithful, though sometimes selfish and stubborn, horse. Will do
most anything for a green apple. Did I mention that he can talk to Brisco or that he
thinks he is a person?
Dixie Cousins
Brisco's girl. A singer and woman of the West, Dixie is well
acquainted with getting what she wants. She also has an amazing habit of showing up
in the most interesting places. Even with her Mae West image, she still posses
a softer side and a heart of gold. The only question in her life is if she and Brisco
will ever have time...
Played by the vivacious Kelly Rutherford
Whip Morgan -
A young hot head that reminds Brisco of himself at a younger age. He was raised by his uncle
after his mother died and his father abandoned him. His uncle was killed later by Roy Hondo - his brother and Whip's father. His real name is William Stafford Hondo. Whip returns to help Brisco and Bowler put Hondo away for good. Whip returns to help Dolly Cousins win by her casino from the Tataglias.
Played by Jeff Phillips.
Pete Hutter -
Played by our favorite Ausi - John Pyper-Ferguson.
Socrates Poole -
He is the Westfield Club's attorney and handles Brisco and becomes his close friend. He has a yearning to be more like the Brisco and Bowler, but just can't quite shake his "white bread" persona. He goes on to work directly for the Prisedent as a liaison to Brisco and Bowler on their government missions. He likes golf and develops a liking for the slots.

John Bly's Gang of Twelve
Big Smith -
Big Smith leads a gang that controls a massive chinese slave trade with the railroad and is Bly's right hand man.
Big is also Dixie's boy friend when Brisco meets her. The Scarred Foot Clan is their
sworn enemy. Four of Big's best men are Pete Hutter, Scratchy and "those other two..."
Brisco does them in in a gunfight - which of course he doesn't even draw his gun in.

Jack Randolph -
The most notorious master thief of his time,
Jack Randolph, together with Pete Hutter, stole treasury plates with which he could create
millions in counterfeit money. After being captured by Brisco, he hires Iphigenia Poole to
defend him. He seduces her and she breaks him out. In the end, Randolph finds a watery
grave at the sunken town of Grave's End while trying drown Brisco.
Brett Bones -
The most gentlemanly member of Bly's gang, Bones is a riverboat gambler. He has taken over the town of Gateway and carries a pardon from the Governor of Louisiana that allows him to do as he pleases. He kills Luther Turner and hustles Socrates in a card game which brings Brisco to town on his trail. His pride and joy is his campion boxer, Dynamite Sullivan. He is arrested when he is tricked to leave the state and can be punished for his many crimes.
Played by Xander Berkeley.

Blackbeard Lacutte -
A bottom feeding caribbean pirate that was chased off the high seas and now terrorizes the Wild West. He carries a $25,000 bounty on his head. He and his crew of cutthroats roam the Nevada wilderness in a armoured wagon with a large cannon on it. His dream is to raise enough money to build an invincible warship and return to the high seas. Lacutte brings about his own end in quicksand while running from Brisco. He goes down trying to pull Brisco with him instead of trying to save himself.
Played by Andrew Divoff.

Pepe Bendix -
The last of Bly's gang of twelve to be dealt with. He is a master safe cracker,
but he gets in over his head when Agent Brown recruits him to steal the orb. He is shot in cold
blood by Brown after delivering the orb.

Ned Zed -
A
Aguerro - Emilio Pena's second and command. He is also a traitor to their cause, and attempts
to burn Brisco, Poole, Dixie, and Comet alive in a barn.
Al -
One of the Tataglia's hired thugs.

The Amazing Rocket Car - Professor Wickwire's rocket was converted, with Brisco's help,
to run on rails. Brisco uses it to catch Big Smith and his gang after they have stolen a train.
The professor toured the west selling rides for 5 cents each until its final use to destroy the
Mobile Battle Wagon.
The Amazing Inner Space Suite -
Professor Wickwire's diving suite that was used by Jack
Randolph to attempt to retrieve the stolen treasury plates from the sunken city of
Graves End.
Agent Ashenden -
FBI Internal Security. He warns Socrates and Bowler of Deputy Directory Isaac Turner plan to kill Emma Steed.

Ashok -
The outgoing Indian (no, the other kind) driver of the stage taking Brisco and Emma Steed to Mexicali. He meets an untimely demise mysteriously at the hands of an assassin after Miss Steed.

One of Blackbeard Lacutte's Pirate band.

Capt. Franklin Boggs -
The captain of the ship that the Trahern family took to Kansas City on their way west. Due
to his negligence, the ship burned and sunk and wiped out the Trahern family, leaving only the
Trahern children alive. Boggs spent three years i the state penitentiary and is still haunted
by the accident. He worked for a while at Roy's Fish Shop, but can now be found drunk down at
the Deep Six Tavern.
Played by Ryan Cutrona.

U.S. Attorney Ginger Breakstone -
The enigmatic Government official works diligently with
his agents to fight crime in the west. He travels in a black coach and appears without warning.
His stoic exterior encapsulates a man that has absolutely no sense of humor what so ever.
Perhaps this is a by-product of growing up with a name like Ginger...
Played by Ashby Adams.
Uncle Brendan - Uncle to the Trahern kids. He gets custody of them after a shipwreck
wipes out the clan Trahern. He leaves them in a Brooklyn orphanage while
he goes out West to prospect. He opens the Eden Mines, worth $3,000,000 and leaves it
to the kids when he dies.

Agent Brown -
A rogue government agent that leads a small band of agents that want to use the Orbs to rule
the world.
Played by Kevin Lowe.

Central Valley Stage Company -
The stage line that carried Brisco and his prisoner Emma Steed to Mexicali. Also the line that Bowler and Brisco were protecting when Dixie robbed it.

Chabuko Canyon - The hiding place of Pete Hutter's stolen rifles, and the location of
a showdown between the forces of General Zaca and Emilio Pena.
City Livery and Stable - The stable where Comet was housed when in San Francisco.

President Grover Cleveland -
The President of the United States at Brisco's time. He recruits Brisco and Bowler into
government service after Bly is finished.

Professor Ogden Coles - Professor Coles has conducted much research into the powers
of the mysterious orbs. His background is shrouded in secrecy, but his knowledge is quite
extensive. Even the good professor is corrupted by the orb's power when he uses it to
help a loved one.

Jonah Collier - Reporter for the San Francisco Gazette. He is often critical of the
Westerfield Club and refers to Socrates as their "lap dog".

Marshal Brisco County, Sr. -
One of the Greatest Lawmen the West has ever known and
father of Brisco. Killed by John Bly and his "Gang of Twelve" in an ambush. Some animosity
remained between Brisco and his father at the time of his death. The life of a Marshal
didn't allow much time for raising children. Brisco begins to learn of the difficulties
such a life presents and finds a better understanding of his father.

Dixie Cousins -
Dixie's sister and owner of the Dolly Cousins Casino in Reno. She is a singer and has a habit of wanting everything that Dixie has - including Brisco. Did I mention that she invented neon lights?

A casino in Reno that is owned by Dolly and stolen by Dino Tataglia. Brisco, Socrates, Bowler and Whip help to get it back.

The leader of the gang which is on the take from Roy Hondo. They terrorize businesses that
don't pay his extortion demands. He gets his from Hondo when he is trapped into testifying
against him by Brisco and Bowler.

Just north of Baton Rouge, Brett Bones runs this river town.

Gerard's Bar -
In the town of Gateway, Brett Bones has his boxing ring there.

Grave's End - A small town that was flooded when the Army built a damn to create a lake. The
Stage Coach station, now 60 feet under water, was Jack Randolph's choice for the hiding place for his
stolen treasury plates. Its also the place where Randolph drowned in the Amazing Inner Space Suite.
Grayson's Boarding House and Funeral Home -
After Donald Grayson's death, the funeral home was converted to a boarding house by his daughter Diana.

Part of Agent Brown's movement to take over the world. Bowler gets the drop on him while

Captured by the Spanish and charged with espionage, he is to be traded back to the United States for Emma Steed. He has information that can stop a war between the two countries.

with dancing girls and stuffed camels. You got to love that!

Brett Bones henchman, Hatchet is an expert at throwing hand axes.

Helena Bend - A town where the Swill Brothers burned the orphanage, prompting Brisco

Hard Rock - population: 388. The town where Brisco and Bowler go to help Bowler's
old flame Lenore. Roy Hondo has set up his protection agency there. The Sheriff is Aaron Viva.

Heart Canyon - Brisco tells Bowler that Jack Randolph
has a hideout in North West corner. Actually
the only thing there is a Bee Farm, as Bowler soon learns!

Roy Hondo -
Known in dodge city as "The Reaper", Hondo is an ice cold killing machine.
After doing time in Uma State Prison, he moves to Hard Rock where he opens Hondo Security.
He collects $100 a month from the towns people to protect them from a gang headed by Dan Gage.
Gage is actually on the take from Hondo and attacks the businesses he tells him to.
Hondo is also the father of Whip Morgan and killed his brother who was raising Whip.

Hondo Security -
An extortion business in the town of Hard Rock run by Roy Hondo. You pay Hondo $100 a month and
nobody messes with you. You don't and you get burned out!

The Horseshoe Club - San Francisco's nighttime place to play! It doubles as the
epicenter for Brisco activity. He meets Professor Wickwire there, sees Dixie there for
the first time, Owens worked there, etc...
Hose - One of General Zaca's guards who Dixie took out with a vase.
Sherrif Hyde -
Sherif of Midnightville, he ends up in a body cast after an accident with a salt shaker and
Deputy O'Donnell, she says it was an accident. He is terrified of being in a confined space, which is why his hate of being buried alive in Donald Grayson's tomb is particularly cruel. He had arrested Grayson after the murder of his wife some years before.

Jalisco - A small town in Mexico which is General Zaca's seat of power.
Governor Jensen - The Governor of Nevada that was indited on 3 counts of bribery. He had "dirty" money delivered through Poole so that the Tataglias could take over Reno.

Donovan Joe -
A childhood friend of Brisco, Donovan Joe set him up in a ambush with the Swill Brothers while
they both worked as trackers for Brisco's father. When Brisco and Donovan's paths cross again,
Donovan Joe has become the Sheriff of
Poker Flats and has allied himself with Bly to get Brisco off his trail forever - even though
Brisco has since forgiven him.

Lenore's Cafe - Run by Lenore and located in the town of Hard Rock. It has a buckboard wagon
stuck in the wall above the entrance. Sheriff Viva says its from a time that a wagon jumping
contest got out of hand.

Lightning Bill - A messenger sent to tell Bly the Brisco has been hired. Poor Bill
ends up at the bottom of a pit In Bly's cavernous hide out when, after seeing their location,
Bly insists he stay to the left on his way out and sends him to his doom.

back of his wagon on the East side of town at Fosters Stable.

Mr. Fletcher McDowell - A crime lord in New York City that sends his Johnnies out west
to steal the inheritance of the Trahern children.

McGovern's - A club in Brooklyn where Billy Monahan's father was a waiter and Tommy and

The border town where the exchange of spies Parker Hamilton and Emma Steed is to take place.

Midnightville -
Population strange. A string of mysterious murders happened here. Socrates Poole also served as a clerk to a local attorney before moving to San Francisco. The hotel burned down, but Deputy O'Donnell says it was an accident - but nobody believes her.

Mindy's Bath House - The Bath house in No Man's Land
where Bill Swill was captured.

Dr. Milo -
Brisco's biology professor at Harvard, and an expert on "herbal medicines". He crosses again paths with Brisco as a passenger on the stage carrying them to Mexicali while he is on sabbatical in the West. Brisco got a B- in his class.

Hawk Misler - The Bartender at the Poker Flats Saloon. Wanted for horse stealing
in Cheyenne, he carries a "cool" $1000 bounty.

The Mobile Battle Wagon - A tread drive, three ton monster armed with a 70 mm canon
(read "tank") developed in secrecy by the members of the Westerfield Club for the Army. It
is stolen by the Swill Brothers. Bowler is hired for $3,000 to return it, but he and Brisco
are forced to destroy it with Professor Wickwire's Amazing Rocket Car.

Billy Monahan -
The leader of the Johnnies sent to find the Trahern children by Mr. McDowell. They intend to
steal the deed to the Eden Mines. Billy is a tough character, but hastens his own demise by
taking a dive off a tall building while trying to knife Brisco.

No Man's Land - A town built by and occupied entirely by woman. It was once a boom town,
but was deserted. It then became the hide out for the Swill Brothers.
Finally three woman traveling west found it and settled down. It has become a heaven for
woman looking for opportunity. Brisco deems it "a good place to live."

Bad Lucky Betty O'Donnell -
The Deputy Sherif of Midnightville. Poor Betty is very accident prone and cursed with bad luck. She helps Brisco, Bowler and Whip solve Socrate's disappearance. After which she is name sherif!

The Orbs -
A man-made electromagnetic wave particle net that captures energy at certain nodal
intersections of the space-time grid. The Orbs were created in 5502 and sent back in time
to aid the advancement of mankind. They are the key to the future and to possess them is
to rule the world. John Bly lives only to posses them. Professor Ogden Coles calls them faith. One was called an Unearthed Foreign Object (UFO) when it is
unearthed by chinese rail workers. These mysterious objects display the power to give men great
strength and heal the wounded but can be lethal if used improperly. The first orb is lost down
a river when Big Smith takes it bridge diving from a speeding train. The final two Orbs are
taken back to the future by Karina.

Owen - The former scenery painter at the Horseshoe club in San Francisco, Owen helped Pete Hutter to stop the train carrying a captive Bly and his "Gang of Twelve" by painting the countryside on a large bolder placed on the tracks.

of General Zaca. He "likes" Dixie, but "loves" the movement.
Pete's Piece - Pete Hutter's pistol. Nobody touches Pete's Piece.
Mrs Plowright -
A fellow passenger on the stage to Mexicali. She's on her way to Mexico to get a nose job.

The Poker Flats Gaming Hall - an gambling establishment where Donovan Joe
bushwhacks Brisco.

Iphigenia Poole -
Socrates sister.A lawyer from back East, she comes out west to defend Jack
Randolph. She has become infatuated by the smooth talking Randolph and frees him from jail. She is
later forgiven of this crime and congratulated for her efforts in the recapturing of Randolph by
U.S. Attorney Breakstone. Oh, and she falls for Brisco.
Lee Pow - Leader of the Scarred Foot Clan and friend to Brisco. Lee Pow has
extensive knowledge of the inner workings of San Francisco's underworld.

Powder Springs - Where the Brisco and Bowler catch up with the Johnnies after they have
grabbed the Trahern children.

Puel - Chief Deputy of Poker Flats. Puel is a crooked
lawman that works for Donovan Joe. He carries a $500
bounty on his head for armed robbery in Green River.
Played by Robert Picardo of Star Trek Voyager fame.

Q
Dr. Quintano, Medicine Woman - The doctor in No Man's Land. She suggests the Brisco
stay flat on his back while recovering from a blow to the head. Wickwire comments that
that's not such a bad position to be in, considering where they are.

Lenore Raymond -
Lord Bowler met Lenore while in the Army. Her husband had been captured
by the Mexicans in a boarder war. Romance had bloomed between the two, but until the fate
of her husband could be known, it could not be. It turns out he was dead the entire time, but
Bowler had been hurt by then and left. She now lives in Hard Rock and owns Lenore's Cafe there.
After standing up to Roy Hondo, she is asked to be mayor of the town. The Flame rekindles when
she calls on Bowler to help her with Hondo. He asks her to return to San Francisco with him,
but she can't leave her new found responsibilities.

Sonny Red -
The ex-sheriff and present mayor of Hard Rock. He's on the take for votes from Roy Hondo and
leads to the death of Dan Gage. He is the mentor of current sheriff, Aaron Viva whom he betrays

Salinas Canyon - The canyon is the supposed hiding place for Pete Hutter's stolen guns.
The actual hiding place was Chabuko Canyon, and Brisco only used Salinas as a ruse to mislead
General Zaca.
Scarred Foot Clan - A secret order of Chinese warriors that exist only to fight
the tyranny of Big Smith and his gang. They train for battle in caverns hidden beneath San
Francisco's China Town. Their leader is Lee Pow, an old friend of Brisco, Sr.

Scratchy - A member of Big Smith's gang. He met his demise
in a fixed gunfight with Brisco. He was actually shot by another member of the gang.

City Saloon shootout. He is also one of Brisco's favorite covers.
Stanyon's Cafe - table 4, 3 o'clock p.m. This is where Brisco and Socrates first
meet Lord Bowler. Its also the scene of their famous game of dynamite chicken - I recommend
ordering the minute steak! Socrates also use the place as a rendezvous for secrete meetings
with his government contacts.

Emma Steed -
Born in England, Emma is a top spy for the United States, and as such is quite capable of taking care of herself. She is to be exchanged to the Spanish for Parker Hamilton who has knowledge that could advert a war. She is betrayed by the Deputy Director of the FBI, isaac Turner and its up to Brisco to get her out of the mess alive. She offers Brisco the chance to join her as her partner in spying.

Mrs. Stockwell - The employer of Mrs. Trahern. She lives in a house on knob hill, number
313, with iron horses on the gate. She hasn't left her house for 28 years. Socrates mistakes
her for a member of the Trahern Family.

Dynamite Sullivan -
The heavy weight boxing champ of the river, he works for Brett Bones. He throws his first fight with "Big Daddy" Bowler, but is knocked out by him in their second, and legitimate, match.

Bobby Swan -
Posing as a stand up comedian on his way to Mexicali to find his fortune, Bobby is actually a crack assassin hired by Isaac Turner to kill Emma Steed. He gets his when he falls in an abandoned well while fighting with Brisco.

The Swill Brothers -
Phil, Will, Bill, and Gil. "Good Reason why inbreeding is a
bad idea." One is big and mean (Bill), the other nervous and crazy (Phil), and last is a long haired
son of a buck (Will). Gil (Gilbert) is the brains of the outfit. The Swill brothers have a long history with Brisco. They bushwhacked him when
Donovan Joe led Brisco into their trap.
They left him to die with a bullet in his back. Gil cashes in when he and his cousin Ed are
blown up in the mobile battle wagon.

The youngest son of crime boss Enzio Tataglia. He was sent to Reno to take over the town. He swindled the Dolly Cousins Casino from Dolly and looks to make her his as well.

Enzio Tataglia -
Crime boss from Back East. He sent his sons Dino and Joey to Reno to take over the town. But Brisco managed to upset their plans, so Enzio headed out West to handle it himself. Enzio is a man of honor, in spite of his strong arm methods, and is greatly displeased when Joey goes against his wishes. He had lost his oldest son Ricardo in a territorial dispute and has no desire to loose another oldest boy.

Joey Tataglia -
The oldest living son of crime boss Enzio Tataglia. He comes to Reno to help clean up the mess made by his little brother Dino. He dishonors his father by not living up to his word and not accepting the loss of the Dolly Cousins Casino in a card game. He's finally trapped by Whip and Brisco in a cage of power lines.

Ricardo Tataglia -
The eldest son of crime boss Enzio Tataglia. He was killed in a territorial dispute and was not a eunuch no matter what anyone says... just a runt!

Soon though, Johnnies from their old neighborhood show up to "escort" them. They actually
plan to steal the money. In the end they get the mines and are reunited with their mother
thanks to the efforts of Brisco, Bowler and Socrates.

Grayson's vengeance is to tie her in a sinking boat in Carson Pond. She was never married, but is still called Mrs. Hmmmm... that's what I call strange!

Sheriff Aaron Viva -
The Sheriff of Hard Rock and a heck of an Elvis impersonator. He is an expert in hand to hand
combat, eats like a horse, and inserts lines from the King's tunes whenever possible in
conversation.

Yazman - an outlaw that Brisco and Bowler capture. For some reason he really gets to
Bowler. In fact, every time Bowler sees him, his eyes bulge out, he starts grinding his teeth,
and the blood quits going to his brain. The last time we see Yazman he's laid out unconscious
in the street after being thrown through a window by Bowler.

The General is a bit insecure, so it's best to complement him at all times.
He has several wives which he can't always recall. They include Marta, Margaret, and Rose.
